This morning the Supreme Court decision in Dobbs v. JWHO was our worst case scenario: a complete overturning of Roe v. Wade.
Abortion is no longer a Constitutionally protected right in the United States, but pregnant people all over the country will always need abortion care and we at Yellowhammer Fund will still be here to help folks fund their abortions, and get the logistical support they need.
What’s most important now is to support and uplift the work of local abortion funds and reproductive justice organizations like us as we rapidly adjust to our new post-Roe reality. We will accommodate as many people needing care as we can but we cannot do it without your help.
It’s also more crucial than ever to support independent clinics like the one we own – West Alabama Women’s Center – as they work to stay open for as long as possible to continue to serve Deep South communities with essential health care.
