Our clients need support NOW – before it’s too late

We know we have been a little quiet lately so here’s an update on what we’ve been up to: we’ve been planning, strategizing, trying to rest while we still can, and waiting. Waiting for the Supreme Court decision on Dobbs v. Jackson Women’s Health Organization – the case that will determine the fate of Roe v. Wade and legal abortion in the US

We’ve already seen the Supreme Court take zero action to prevent Texas’ near-total six week abortion ban from remaining in effect for 236 days and still counting. And for us in Alabama, Mississippi and our surrounding region, we’re preparing for the absolute worst: for abortion to become illegal in over half the states in the country, including the entire Deep South, in a matter of months.

As a SCOTUS decision draws nearer, we will do our best to get as many clients the care they need without delay. We know that if Roe is overturned, the closest states where abortion will still be legal will be hundreds, if not thousands of miles away. What we need most is the ability to get clients care NOW before we have to send them halfway across the country to access abortion and the best way you can help is by giving what you can, whether it’s $25 or $250.

It’s also a great time to show your continued solidarity by becoming a monthly supporter! We will still be funding abortions, shipping free emergency contraception to three states, supporting parents and families with material supplies, and more no matter what the SCOTUS decides.

And lastly, we just want to say thank you for being here. We are immensely grateful to have you on our side, now more than ever.

In solidarity,

Yellowhammer Fund

Donate to Support Reproductive Justice in the Deep South

The Yellowhammer Fund envisions a society in which reproductive decisions are made free from coercion, shame, or state interference, a society in which individuals and communities have autonomy in making healthy choices regarding their bodies and their futures.

As members of the National Network of Abortion Funds, we’ve funded abortion care and practical support for Alabamians since 2018.
