When the state of Alabama opened up Unemployment Assistance, the need was so overwhelming that recipients were forced to stay in lines overnight in order to get services. Our own Mia Raven talks to NPR about the crisis, and what Yellowhammer Fund provided to the unemployed to make the wait a little safer and more comfortable.
