The rain and cold couldn’t stop us from March for Our Rights on Saturday, as dozens of activists gathered in Montgomery for a March for Our Rights. We marched up the street to the capitol, then gathered for speeches from Yellowhammer Board Member Jilisa Milton, Executive Director Amanda Reyes, URGE Alabama Director Courtney Lashae and LGBTQA Activist Travis Jackson, and pledge our commitment to fight any oppressive, restrictive anti-human rights measure that comes out of the state house starting Tuesday, February 3rd. As Jilisa reminded us all, in the words of Fannie Lou Hamer – “Nobody is free until everybody is free!”

You can watch the rally at our Facebook page here, and see a short news story from WFSA 12 here. We can’t wait to get starting on this year’s legislative session, where we will fight for all of our rights.

Support Reproductive Justice in the Deep South

The Yellowhammer Fund envisions a society in which reproductive decisions are made free from coercion, shame, or state interference, a society in which individuals and communities have autonomy in making healthy choices regarding their bodies and their futures.
