Show Description:

The ReFrame is a pop-up artivism event under “It’s My Body. Period.”, an Alabama Values Initiative in collaboration with reproductive rights partners across Alabama. “It’s My Body. Period.” is a content-heavy educational series and outreach centering around the reproductive fight with the goal of closing the knowledge gap around reproductive justice. We hope to tear down the frames of disinformation that wreak havoc on the movement to fight for reproductive rights.

The ReFrame will feature thought-provoking art created by local artists around reproductive justice and health care, as well as a panel discussion featuring activists and artists.

Eligibility:

This is a juried show around reproductive justice and rights being held on March 25, 2023All artists working on various mediums, including performance-based mediums are welcome to apply. Submitted works must be related to reproductive rights/abortion, body autonomy, and politics around health in marginalized communities such as BIPOC and LGBTQ+ communities. Rarely displayed or new artwork is encouraged. No size restrictions. All original paintings, drawings, photography, mixed media, body paint, or sculptures. Artwork must be on stretched canvas, matted or framed and properly wired for hanging.
