Abortion is illegal in Alabama and most of our surrounding states, and we are unable to assist abortion seekers going out of state while we await a decision in our lawsuit against Alabama’s Attorney General. It’s heartbreaking, but our mission is clear: get preventative supplies to those who don’t want to become pregnant and serve those who are continuing their pregnancies and who are already parents. The great news is that we’ve already been doing that. And we have even bigger plans in 2024 thanks to your support this Giving Tuesday.
To help fill in the gaps where Southerners’ reproductive health needs are not being met, we have increased the number of emergency contraceptives and safer sex supplies we’re sending out. We are thrilled to announce that we’ve distributed well over 32,000 doses of FREE Emergency Contraception by mail since 2020. Our safer sex kits also include condoms, pregnancy tests, ovulation test strips, lube, and First Amendment protected information on how to access abortion care to give our clients more autonomy over their bodies and their futures.
Reproductive health is so much more than abortion: it’s contraceptives, period products, prenatal care, childbirth, newborn supplies, postpartum care, ongoing check-ins, and more.
