Period.”\, an Alabama Values Initiative in collaboration with reproductive rights partners across Alabama. “It’s My Body. Period.” is a content-heavy educational series and outreach centering around the reproductive fight with the goal of closing the knowledge gap around reproductive justice. DESCRIPTION:The Yellowhammer Fund & POWER House is proud to present The March For Our Rights 2020 Montgomery\, Alabama (formerly known as The Women’s March) on Saturday\, February 1\, 2020 in historic downtown Montgomery. \nThe 2020 Alabama Legislative session begins on February 4th. Join us as we send a message to our elected officials that we will NOT allow them to take away our rights (again)! We dare defend our right to abortion care & access\, affordable healthcare & Medicaid expansion\, voting rights\, and LGBTQ+ rights & protections. \nWe will meet at the Court Square Fountain starting at noon. We will march up Dexter Avenue to the State Capitol steps at 1PM and rally until 4PM. Our special guest MC will be Alabama’s own Ambrosia Starling – you will NOT want to miss this rally! \nIf you or the organization you represent shares our values and would like to speak at this rally\, please contact Mia Raven at: mia@yellowhammerfund.org. \nWe will be announcing more details in the coming weeks so keep your eyes peeled to the comments below for more information. \nThe POWER House clinic escorts will be on hand to provide security and assist attendees as needed. Look for them in the RAINBOW clinic escort vests if you need help. \nBoth the Yellowhammer Fund & POWER House strives to make our events accessible to ALL\, regardless of ability.
